Maisie Adam: Buzzed

Comedy has never felt so good!

Maisie Adam: Buzzed

Maisie Adam is bringing up the mood and focusing on the positives in her new show "Buzzed"! She starts by addressing her now-famous hairstyle (long at the front, buzz cut at the top/back!), describing is as Zoom-gig-appropriate at the front, and lockdown boredom at the back. She talks about the joys of being proposed to, wedding planning, and her new flat, littered with hilarious anecdotes of awkwardly trying to find a good proposal spot, outshining everyone at wedding speeches, and accidentally joining an LGBTQ+ football team (but being welcomed in with open arms). Her stories are both funny and heartwarming, creating a place to forget the outside world and spend an hour doing nothing but laughing!

Adam is energetic, charismatic, and fantastic storyteller, who plays well off of the audience. A particularly great moment was when an audience member was escaping over the railing to go to the toilet, and instead of awkwardly ignoring it, Adam turns it into a laugh-out-loud spectacle.

She ends the show on a high, sharing her passion for football and playing a brilliant montage of her winning a Top Bins on the show SoccerAM. Confetti cannons signal that time is up, and the audience leave the room with huge smiles on their faces.

I love to do deep-dives into the political, psychological, or social messages projected by media, both overtly and subliminally. I'm a huge fan of books, and can most likely be found hiding somewhere in a library with a fantasy or feminist book in hand.
