How to: Become a Reviewer for Voice Magazine

About this event

Starts: Tuesday 24 April 2018 6:30 PM

Ends: Tuesday 24 April 2018 8:30 PM

At: Board Room M2, University of Brighton, 58-67 Grand Parade, Brighton BN2 0JY

Organised by: Voice Magazine and Brighton Fringe Academy

Voice is delighted to be the Youth Media Partner at Brighton Fringe again, and we’re on the look out for opinionated young reviewers aged 16-30 years to see shows for free, publish reviews in our magazine and help us to find the Best Newcomer to Brighton Fringe 2018.

This evening workshop will sharpen your skills and help you up your game as an arts festival reviewer.

Voice’s Editor Tom Inniss will outline the best way to tackle fringe reporting – from gaining press entry to popular shows, to analysing performances quickly when a deadline is looming.

We’ll discuss the key elements to creating an engaging and insightful review, and run a Q&A session with Voice editors and a previous Voice Reporter to answer your questions about reviewing and tell you more about joining the Brighton Fringe Reviewers team.

Reporting from fringe festivals is an exciting experience! It requires quick thinking, rapid writing and good navigation skills.
