Sound Symphony: Sensory Film is a film celebrating Autistic creativity. From a classical concerto to the whir of a washing machine, the flourishes of a clarinet to the click of a light switch, all sounds are celebrated. Shot in unexpected places across the UK - a cellist performs at the top of a Scottish mountain, a pianist plays the inside of a piano with ping pong balls - Sound Symphony is about making music your own way.
The film will be premiered at Wandsworth Arts Fringe is an exciting opportunity to bring Oily Cart’s work to more interesting and unexpected places – appearing at Tooting Market, Sprout Arts and All Saints Church Tooting - to surprise and delight the local community. At All Saints Church Tooting, there will also be an opportunity to hear from Oily Cart’s Executive Director, Zoe Lally, and contributors, as they introduce the film.
Sound Symphony: Sensory Film embodies the ultimate mission of Oily Cart: equal access to the arts for everyone. The company first explored sensory film-making as part of their Uncancellable Programme: the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which explored ways to bring accessible sensory experiences to audiences while in-person performances weren’t possible.

- All Saints Church Tooting - Friday 21st June (4.30 - 6.00pm, including the film and introduction from Oily Cart Executive Director Zoe Lally and Dr Jill Goodwin), Saturday 22nd June (12.00-12.30pm, including film and short introduction from contributors).
