Between the Sheets: Curators Introduction

JMW Turner’s reputation as an artist of international influence and importance justifiably

rests on his landscape work. However, he also turned his artistic gaze towards the human form.

These drawings of the female figure, never intended to be seen by the public, are personal and

intimate and show a little recognises side to Turner. Join the curators of our exhibition of
