This blog will briefly tell you about the Nokia game, Snakes.

What is Snakes?

Snakes is an update to the classic Snake game from Nokia. It is an app that can be freely downloaded from the Nokia N-Gage website, and can be copied to another N-Gage handset through Bluetooth.

Sequel-

Snakes was so successful that they made a sequel to it, Snakes Subsonic. it was released on May 22nd, 2008. It was developed by Barking Lizards.

Features:

  • Viral distribution allows the game to copy itself to another N-Gage- this is through using Bluetooth as the carrier.
  • Up to four players can play in a multiplayer game using 4-Gage devices and bluetooth as the carrier.
  • Nokia maintain a worldwide leaderboard of scores, accessible through the N-Gage Arena service. Any N-Gage with a valid data plan can upload the high score from within the game.
  • Single player game has 42 levels (37 on N-Series), with both square and hex grids available in the playfield. Higher levels allow you to climb round the edges and play on both surfaces of the play field.

Compatibility-

Although Snakes was initially designed for the Nokia N-Gage platform, it is also available for Nokia N95. Several other devices support the optimised file mention earlier as well.
