Alice is celebrated by Trinity for Progress in Classical and Jazz.

Alice Williams | TrinityTalent 2019

Alice was nominated by her teacher for her outstanding progress in Classical and Jazz. They said 'Alice began having singing lessons in a small group of 4 when she was 7, eventually moving to individual lessons. She has shown exceptional dedication to her singing and also excels in Musical Theatre, although classical seems to be her preferred area of study.'

In what ways would you say your Classical and Jazz qualification has influenced your artistic achievement, creativity, leadership or progress?

I think the Trinity awards have influenced me by giving me lots of confidence and they have helped develop my singing ability. They have made me feel that if I put my mind to something I can achieve it. Another way they have encouraged me is by allowing me to be creative and offer my ideas in group work.

How has participating in a Classical and Jazz qualification impacted your artistic skills or career development?

Trinity awards have helped me with my musical progress, improving my sight reading and oral skills. They have helped improve my performance skills, especially performing in front of an audience.

What's next for you?

The next step in my musical journey will hopefully be to gain my grade 7 and 8 in classical music with high grades and then carry on my choral singing and move to a more prestigious choir.

What are your career aims?

My career aims in the future are to hopefully one day be a singer in the West End or a professional performer.

Have you got any advice for other young people working towards a Classical and Jazz?

Be resilient, always believe in yourself, work hard and finally, enjoy what you are doing.
