Should art be used as propaganda to aid or provoke war? by Oliver Jones

I know very little about this subject area...
I have always thought propaganda is their to support debating and to spark opinions of others to get people talking, particularly certain areas in society. But they only ever become opinions rather than starting wars. I never knew propaganda influenced people that much to start physically start wars. Aren't people entitled to their own opinions and if they choose to follow propaganda that's their decision? Look at what social media does now, it's practically worse than propaganda in some respects... opinions everywhere, people can say what they want when they want. I thought Propaganda was very controlled via political parties? So I guess if you're a supporter of that party, you'd support the propaganda that comes with it?
Maybe I missed the point of 'art' but are there other forms of propaganda then? -

Do you think social media and the history of dance has a big impact of how society views the average dancer? Let's face it, hip-hop is quite new in comparison to ballet, do you think this was because people felt the same as you? I saw a show called 'Big Ballet' and it proved that bigger dancers can do just the same amount of techniques as other sized dancers. So is it really just based on fitness?

The Importance of the Arts by Beth Webster

I like how you have mentioned the NHS and young people's mental health. Is there any evidence of a positive impact with the arts and mental health? you mentioned if the arts are no longer a part of education, it may impact the economy - Do you think society would let a decline of the arts happen? Tourism is a huge part of supporting the arts, there's not many locals that support the arts in comparison so what does this say? Have the arts already shown a decline because of it's lacking within education? Are there many students that actually want to be involved in the arts?
I am a huge supporter of the arts and have seen positive outcomes but many barriers come from the lack of support from locals who don't attend the exhibitions, theatres and museums... so maybe the problem isn't just in education? -
Should the Arts be Included Within The Curriculum by Jade Burton

What if schools only offered the arts within extra-curricular? Do the arts need to be specifically in the curriculum where students should be examined on them or are you asking that the arts should just be accessible within schools? You said that it's the parents that mainly disagree, should the government listen to parents on this matter? I agree with you that the arts should be in the curriculum as statistics have clearly proven to show positive outcomes for more well rounded people. I also agree that it does improve academic progress. A good review.

I would say they are an art form but more so in the film industry as from what I have heard games are very realistic now. The realistic aspect is probably why they get bad press and maybe not then seen as an art form. Or does it come back from the fact that gaming is quite a new thing in the last 20 years whereas most other arts forms have been around for longer? To be honest, I never thought about gaming being classed as an art form, I would have just said its called gaming which would go into the form of computing and technology but this isn't me disagreeing I think maybe it's just use of my categorising it. Computing and technology do often fit in to the bracket of art as you have digital art and textiles for example, so what I am trying to say is, I think it's just a case of labelling things.
