I enjoyed the Frida Kahlo Exhibition aswell. I found it very interesting. Your rewiew was great on Frida Kahlo. Did you have a favourite painting of hers?
Frida Kahlo is very interesting. I think her paintings are a bit weird, I don’t find them uplifting. I think they reflect on her tumultuous life. The quote I used encompasses her inspiration, it was herself. She was influenced by indigenous Mexican culture, which is apparent in her use of bright colours. She frequently included the symbolic monkey. In Mexican mythology, monkeys are symbols of lust, yet Frida Kahlo portrayed them as protective symbols.
