Mamma Mia- the musical

On June 22nd, I went to see Mamma Mia, the musical, at the Novello Theatre in London.

Mamma Mia- the musical

Mamma Mia involved singing, dancing, and acting. The songs in Mamma Mia were ABBA songs, such as, Dancing Queen and Super Trouper. Mamma Mia is about a girl called Sophie who is getting married on a Greek Island. However, Sophie wants to invite her dad to her wedding but there's a problem...she doesn't know who her dad is. After discovering her mum's diary, she finds out that her mum, Donna, had written about three men who could possibly be her dad. Sophie then invites all three men to her wedding; all behind Donna's back.

The musical had many songs with amazing singing, excellent dance choreography, and great energy. I enjoyed the songs a lot and I saw how much work must have been put in to successfully perform it. The set was very simple-some Greek-style walls to make it clear to the audience where it was set. There was also an abstract blue background to set the atmosphere.

The actors were good but I think as it was a musical, the main focus were the songs. I enjoyed the songs more than the acting scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed all the ABBA songs within the show and I loved the costumes at the end which Donna and two other characters, Rosie and Tanya were wearing: Costumes

I enjoyed the show and I would recommend Mamma Mia to anyone who loves music, high energy dancing, fun choreography and great singing.
