Chris Betts: Social Animal

Chris Betts is witty, charming and very funny, and his amusing show, full of behind-the-bar observations and crude jokes, is a great way to end the day.

Chris Betts: Social Animal

From working behind the bar in a pub for several years, you can learn a lot about many different types of people, as I found out from Chris last night, as he preceded to relay amusing anecdotes and funny stories to us in an often rude, and consistently funny manner.

As the youngest person in the audience, I can honestly say that some of his jokes went over my head, and some I simply didn't find funny, often for a mixture of reasons. Despite this, I still had a great time and it was clear from the audience's reaction just how talented and funny Chris is. Everyone in the audience throughly enjoyed it, some even reduced to tears as a result of laughing so much, and I definitely came out in a good mood, still laughing at some of the things he had said.

It is clear that Chris has a natural ability to perform stand-up. He is an instinctively funny person and has a wonderful ability to phrase things in such a way that they become funnier than they may otherwise be perceived. This ease came across in his show as he naturally digressed with comfort from his chosen topics, consistently making the entire room laugh.

Overall, the show was funny and distinctive, if a bit rude for my taste, and Chris obviously has a talent for comedy. He was a pleasure to watch!

Chris Betts: Social Animal is on at 9:45pm until 30th August, excluding 17th.

Suitable for ages 18 and over.
