How to Draw a Realistic Dog | Tutorial for BEGINNERS

This is my first animal portrait I made whilst taking this video. In my post I will describe how I drew my portrait in detail so if you wanted to have a go at animal portraiture you know the stages.

From this video I created a portrait of a scotty dog. The first step I took was to outline the dog’s head.  I then began to shade the dog's face with a charcoal pencil before I painted over the shading with watercolour. Once the painting had been done I then turned my attention to drawing the dog's body. First  I drew the dog's outline, then I shaded and created a dark coloured base. Over the top of this dark base, I painted a watercolour surface to create the dog’s coat.

Wow! This picture is amazing and sooo cute! I appreciate that you went to all that detail to get it just right, I have had experience with watercolour and I know it can take a lot of time and care. Well done!
