Leo Sawikin's introspective folk-rock shines on 'Row Me Away'

Leo Sawikin has been catching our eyes and our ears with his unique take on folk rock. With his latest single, 'Row Me Away', Sawikin proves that he can take influences from all over the shop and combine them to create something which is truly his own.

What do you get if you mix influences from grunge legends the Smashing Pumpkins with the meditative tones of singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell? (By the way, happy 50th, Blue!)

The answer isn't, as one might think, a mess. Instead, what we get is 'Row Me Away' - a laidback, folk-influenced slow rock jam, with tinges of grunge, all lead by the phenomenal vocals of Leo Sawikin, a notable new presence on the singer-songwriter scene. The melding of genres on this track is utterly effortless, with Sawikin's expertise revealing not only a musical talent, but an encyclopaedia of musical knowledge leaving us listeners in safe hands.

'Row Me Away' is out now, with Leo's debut solo album set to follow later on this year.
