Arts award part B: Thor the dark world

Lately me and my family have been watching the Marvel series so I have written a review on Thor: The Dark World for my bronze arts award part D (exploring the arts as an audience member)

Arts award part B: Thor the dark world

In summary, the movie was about how the antagonists, the ‘Dark elves’, wanted to end the universe at a point where all the worlds were in line, using  a dangerous force. Meanwhile the dark force enters the woman, who Thor is in love with, and he must remove it from her to make sure she doesn’t die and to kill all the Dark Elves so they can’t destroy universe. I watched on Disney plus, where you can find lots of other Marvel films.

What I liked about it:

There were many good characters in it and the way they interacted with others helped to portray their personality. As well as this there were many exciting plot twists that helped to build up a sense of adrenaline for the people watching it.

What I disliked without it:

Although there being many plot twists helped to make the movie exciting, at some points the storyline became complicated and hard to follow. Furthermore, most of the movie was made up of the dramatic fighting scenes between good and bad, however I would have preferred if there was a little less fighting and more explanatory parts concerning why certain things were happening.

Would I watch it again?

I might watch it again if I were rewatching the Marvel series, but other than that I don’t think that I would watch on a normal evening, as, even though I don’t dislike the movie, It is not my favourite and I would enjoy watching other movies more.

Who would like this movie?

People who are into tense and dramatic action movies and can easily pick up a storyline would love this movie, but I think that you should be over 12 to watch it, as aforementioned there are multiple fighting scenes.

Livi, great work! Glad you gave the pros and cons of the movie - and I think I agree, sometimes focusing on the fight scenes means we miss out on important storyline moments!
