Matthew Bournes Swan Lake 2012 (Swan dance)

A review of the Swan dance from Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake 2012 performance.

Matthew Bournes Swan Lake 2012 (Swan dance)

Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake 2012.

The performance began with a dancer leaping across the stage, wearing a beautiful white swan costume. His arms were moving gracefully, resembling a swan's wings, as well as this I really liked that the dancers were using a lot of quick jumps, leaps and pas de chats. I loved seeing how these were used throughout the dance. I really enjoyed watching all of the swans were travelling around the stage, creating different patterns and shapes with their bodies and with formations. My favourite part was the end: all of the swans ran off stage one by one, leaving the prince alone.
