Why did you choose to attend this exhibition/show?

Due to the Covid pandemic I couldn't go to an exhibition in person, so I had to choose an online event . I liked this exhibition a lot because on the  left hand side of the exhibition pieces they showed their first work and on the right hand side they showed their current piece. It was all about the growth of the artists.

Who were the artists and what do they create?

19 artists from a ‘Drawing with Fire’ pyrography group showed their work under the theme ‘Growth ‘. This group is run by an artist called Valarie Connel who is a professional pyrography artist with over 14 years experience

What did you see?

My first impression was that I was amazed at how popular pyrography is and what beautiful pieces the artists can  make using it.   . I thought the exhibition was laid out really clearly with details about the artists underneath.

Did you find anything particularly interesting to you personally?

I thought it was really interesting how they exhibited the art with the artists first piece on the left and their latest piece on the right. But in some cases I preferred the first pieces of work to the new ones . My favourite piece of art was a leopard. I thought there was so much detail in it and it looked like a photograph almost!

What did you learn which will help you to achieve your challenge?

I learnt about the use of colour to create patterns, and shadows in the art.

Did you enjoy the experience overall? Why?

Yes I enjoyed the exhibition because I got to see all the amazing artwork. I wish I had been able to go to it  in person though.
