Review: Acoustic version of 'Catch the Light' by Rachael Sage (MPress Records)

American musician Rachael Sage has taken her song ‘Catch The Light’ from her latest album ‘Character’ and recorded an acoustic version for a digitally available acoustic EP. She has opted for light acoustic guitar, subtle piano and relaxing violin to reinvent it slightly whilst still keeping the passionate message.

Taking an instrumental composed by Sage during 7th grade, she began playing it on her keyboard and a set of lyrics soon flowed which resulted in the final product. It is this intense reflection as an adult on her 11-year old self that allows her own personal timeline to intertwine.

In conclusion, this New York singer-songwriter has the ability to write powerful material about the human condition and she has done it again here.
