Women excelling in their fields is exactly what we love to see here at Voice Mag - and Astraea is killing it.

Female producer Astraea releases 'Tonight I Run'

Having previously struggled to make a name for herself in the male-driven world of music production, Astraea is now releasing solo material - written, produced and arranged herself, something which places her firmly in the descendant line from the likes of Kate Bush and Bjork.

‘Tonight I Run’ was the perfect song with which to break out of the box. Astraea speaks of her struggles in this “anthem for the underdog”, but with power and determination as she overcomes every obstacle put in her path. The production is excellent, as it to be expected from a go-to in their field (who has previously worked with everyone from Ward Thomas to Jack Savoretti, and even arranged strings for Lewis Capaldi) - melding strings and synths and piano to create a truly atmospheric pop song which is sure to catch eyes and ears the world over.

“‘Til I run out of breath in my lungs,” sings Astraea in earnest, proving once again that this is something she’s had to fight and work hard for. The song is suitably triumphant, but leaves room for more - Astraea clearly has many more stories left to tell and I for one am excited to hear them.
