The band described as “humanity’s most exhilarating dance party” have turned their talents to reimaginations of staple songs as the festive season rolls around just in time for their Christmas album release, A Very Furnace Christmas. In their newest take on a classic track, Furnace have put a Christmas-sy spin on American six-piece the Village Peoples party hit ‘YMCA’, which sees this lively lot decking the halls and playing the piano as they re-work the original lyrics into a more XMAS style.
Instead of saying ‘It’s Fun To Stay At The Y.M.C.A’, Furnace are singing about the most wonderful time of the year being Christmas. Pulling in some festive vocabulary to rework the original tracks narrative, the Sydney six-piece are decking the halls and putting presents under the Christmas tree in their fun-filled, festive and upbeat rendition of ‘YMCA’.
Now, their incredible party-starting energy will blow the roofs off millions of households celebrating Christmas across the UK with the release of ‘YMCA, in advance of A Very Furnace Christmas and alongside the announcement of 2020 tour dates just around the corner.
