What was the title of the exhibition/show?
MCM Birmingham Comic Con
Why did you choose to attend this exhibition/show?
Because it's where all the original marvel comics are and I’ve done a homeschool project on marvel.
What did you see?
I saw lots of cosplay characters from Star Wars, DC, Marvel and many other popular franchises. We walked around the giant building looking at different stalls which were selling things like costumes, comics, paintings, food, toys and many other things. Actors from Star Wars were signing autographs for fans for about £25 each.
Who were the artists and what do they create?
There were many cosplay characters there who had amazing costumes on. Some of the people who were running the stalls had created extremely good cosplay props like swords and bows and arrows. My mum and my sister made costumes for the event and went dressed as Senator Padme from Star Wars and Pidge from the cartoon show called Voltron.
What were your first impressions?
It was amazing, because when I walked in the hall there were stalls of comic books and star wars characters wondering the carpets going past each stall. On our way in, a stormtrooper noticed my mums Senator Padme costume and greeted her as “Your Highness”
Did you find anything particularly interesting to you personally?
Quite a few of the characters were dressed up as marvel characters which was really cool because I think marvel is awesome.
What did you learn? Did it make you think about any art form differently?
Acting isn’t just seen on stage and TV but also seen in real life as reenacting
Did you enjoy the experience overall? Why?
Yes, because i got to meet other marvel fans, look at comic books and just look at everything around me which was filled with game consoles and cinema screen with movies playing all the time.
