Review of Bella Chipperfield

Review of Bella Chipperfield

I went to see Bella Chipperfield (who went to the Royal Holloway University) perform at our school, during a lunch time. She performed a piece that her friend had composed, on her harp, also she played Canon. I thought it was a really well written and well played piece and it was really beautiful. Afterwards. She explained to us how the harp works, what the different pedals were for and why the strings were different colours. For example:

-The harp has 6 ½, and 47 strings

-It is tuned to Cb

-The red strings are C’s and the black strings are F’s

-There are 7 pedals, one for each note

-For the natural notes, you flick pedal into the middle position, sharp= the bottom position, flat= the top position

It has given me a better insight into the world of classical music and instruments, and I appreciate it more than I did before.

Hi Bob! We recommend adding an image to your post as it will complement your text.

It sounds like you learned a lot! The harp is such a beautiful instrument. Has it peaked your interest into learning more about classical music?
