Cake and Bake Show

This is a review of Cake and Bake.

Cake and Bake Show

Part C2 Exhibition/show

Date: 05/10/2018:  Cake and Bake, Excel, London

Why did you choose to attend this exhibition/show?  I didn't plan to go, but when I saw it was on I was interested, so I decided to go. I thought that it would be good to see different people doing sugar craft.

Who were the artists and what do they create?

I saw Rosie Dummer make butter cream. It was interesting because I have seen her on Extreme Cake Makers. I loved all her work, she also made a Big Ben cake. I also saw some people doing piping. I decided to buy a piping bag. There were lots of cakes to look at, they were amazing.

What did you see? I saw lots of cakes.  My favourite was the Big Ben. I loved watching the piping, and watching Rosie. There was an amazing Mermaid cake which was brilliant.  I also liked a cake by Katie Mills called ‘Up up and Away’.

What were your first impressions

When I first walked in I saw an amazing Big Ben cake. It was so big. It had a working clock.  I thought it was good to put this at the entrance because it was the first thing I saw and it showed it off.  Then, when I walked round I saw so many people selling things and doing demonstrations. I was a bit confused because I thought it would just be cakes but people were selling cheese and olives too.

Did you find anything particularly interesting to your personally? Yes I found Rosie's Big Ben cake absolutely amazing. I also loved watching her.

What did you learn which will help you to achieve your challenge?

I was inspired by seeing so other people interested in cakes.  I really liked Rosie’s work.  I want to try out the piping that I saw.  If you are interested in cakes it was good to give you ideas.

Did you enjoy the experience overall? Why? Yes, before I went to the Cake and Bake Show I didn't think that decorating cakes and baking  and sugar craft was that popular, but I found out that it is.

Who did you share this review with and what did they say about your review?
