Annie the Musical - as Performed by Phoenix Theater Company

Review of a local theater production of Annie.

Annie the Musical - as Performed by Phoenix Theater Company

We went to see the musical, Annie,as performed by the Phoenix Theatre Company at Cast, a theatre in Doncaster. Damian Bell was the musical director, with Joe Hodkinson as the choreographer, and Daniel Glover as the director.

The play started with a scene in the Orphanage, where Annie sings Maybe. The play had great props, staging and costumes, which includes a real dog as Sandy! The play is about an eleven year old girl named Annie, who was abandoned at an orphanage as a baby, with nasty Miss Hannigan. But when Oliver Warbucks chooses to let an orphan stay at his home for two weeks, Annie’s life changes dramatically.

Overall I think the play was very good,  the actors were very good because they brought the characters to life. Two of my classmates from drama class were starring in the play, they played orphans. I think they did fantastically!I also liked the scenery because it seemed incredibly realistic, and it didn’t take a long

time to change during blackouts. I would recommend this to anyone who likes musicals and heart-warming stories!
