I have always been an Eagles fan.  So when my dad bought me tickets to see the Ultimate eagles for perform at the Cambridge corn exchange, was ecstatic.  That was a fantastic 11 the birthday gift!  There were people of all ages in the audience with me although I seemed to be one of the youngest.  Most people knew the lyrics to the songs.  I and my dad went to see them on Thursday the 22nd of September 2016.

The show was well structured in chronological order taking the audience from the early 70s from the construction of the band through the next few decades.  They changed their clothing in between to reflect the fashions of the times.  They played the songs and talked about some of the songs and where they came from.  E.g. ‘New Kid in Town’ as about an up and coming artist - Bruce Springsteen (The boss).Hotel California was definitely the most popular song!  Some of the other songs they sang were: Take It Easy, Silver Dagger, Life in the Fast Lane, One of These Nights, Rocky Mountain Way, Lyin' Eyes, Take It to the Limit, Heartache Tonight, I Can't Tell You Why and Desperado.

This was a performance that was enjoyed by several generations and is suitable for all ages.  Fans of rock, soft rock, country rock and folk rock – I would highly recommend you try and catch one of their performances.

Good taste in music! The Eagles almost come close to the Beatles in terms of influence on music

You were very fortunate to be able to see the Eagles!  This can be a more difficult band to review as they've been around a long time and most people are familiar with their music.

I like that you began your review with a personal narrative.  It's a good way to engage a reader that might otherwise skip over the review feeling there's nothing new to be said about the Eagles.

You noticed the ages of the crowd and that most people knew the lyrics.  Those are wonderful observations.  You probably were one of the youngest in the crowd and most people did know the lyrics.  Given the overall age of the crowd most people knew all the lyrics years ago and may have needed the songs to help jog their memories!

Noting the structure of the show, outfit changes, and conversations the band had with the audience lets the reader of this review understand that the Eagles were catering to their audience!  This also gives me a greater appreciation for Eagles.  Not all artists take their audience for granted but in this case the Eagles understand their fan base and their show wasn't as much as reliving the memories for themselves as it was for their audience.

Imagine the 50-something-year old being drawn back to their youth when they used to listen to "Hotel California" over and over and over again!   I'm in my 40's and just reading the song titles bring back memories.  I worked at Glacier National Park in Montana during college some 20+ years ago and I remember driving around with the windows down blasting "Take It Easy".

I hope many others can take your recommendation and see the Eagles!

My one question for you.  You noted under accomplishments that their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) and Hotel California albums were ranked among the 20 best selling albums in the United States.  Do you have any idea how these albums sold in the UK or Europe?

Hey Laurie! Many thanks for your amazing review! I really appreciated the time you spent on it. In the UK, the greatest hits sold 300,000 copies and hotel California sold 1.8 million copies! Both reached # 2 in the UK album chart.
