Wind in the Willows, live performance in Coventry Albany Theatre

This is a review of a production of Wind in the Willows I went to see in December 2017 at the Albany Theatre in Coventry.

Wind in the Willows, live performance in Coventry Albany Theatre

Why did you choose to attend this exhibition/show?

I've never seen a live show on stage and I wanted to see one. I saw an advert for The Wind in the Willows at Albany Theatre in Coventry, so I asked my mum if we could go as a family.

What did you see?

I saw wind in the Willows show by Kenneth Grahame adapted for the stage bye Mike Kenny.

Who were the artists and what do they create?

The performance was bye the actors of the Albany Theatre group. Plus volunteers from Coventry.

What were your first impressions?

When I first went into the theatre I was excited because I had never been in  a theatre before.

When the show first started I was confused because I didn't know what was going on. The stage was full of actors dressed up as forest animals. they were moving props that looked like dusty furniture. Then it I  became clear as the actors started to talk that the show was set at ‘Toad Hall’ and toad hall was being sold.

The theatre was a huge room, with a lots of chairs and a big stage.  The stage was set up like a big old house and had lots of props in it.

Did you find anything particularly interesting to your personally?

My favourite character was ‘Toad’  played by Dean Leon Finlan he was funny and convincing I liked  all the trouble he got into. He was very loud and energetic, and made the show fun.

What did you learn? Did it make you think about any art form differently?

I learnt that live shows are fun to watch. I learnt that live shows use one thing for a lot of other things,  for example the characters used one wooden cart as a  horse and carriage, a car and a caravan. They put different props onto the cart to make it look like other things, which was very clever.

The actors also had to remember lots of lines, which was very impressive.

Did you enjoy the experience overall?

I enjoyed the experience overall because it was very impressive  and fun to watch.
