The Nutcracker

The classical ballet version of 'The Nutcracker' that I watched was a part of a world touring ballet festival - 'The Vienna Festival ballet

The Nutcracker

'Being a member of the audience watching 'The Nutcracker' was simply magical. The show was enchanting and what I'd call a really inspiring masterpiece!

Being a ballet dancer myself, this show was especially intriguing... I'm hoping to go 'on pointe' after my next grading, I took particular interest/pleasure in identifying the 'Vienna festival' ballerina's different positions.

I also thought that the costumes were gorgeous and found that Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music was spell bounding!

There is only one thing I suggest could've improved the show, and that is if there was a little narration during the opening of each scene. I think the narration is necessary because occasionally I was a bit unsure of what was actually meant to be taking place! :-D

I would definitely recommend this show to any budding ballerina or even to anyone who has an interest in ballet.

The Nutcracker captures many aspects of dance and drama (especially mime and strong/captivating facial expressions) to display a charming tale.

The level of technique and talent evident in this performance is brilliant for anyone who is remotely into dance to watch!
