Towards Night at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne

I chose to see this exhibition because my art group was going so I thought it would be good to go and see all the art people had made and to see all the materials they used.

Towards Night at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne

Who were the artists and what do they create?

There were lots of people the name of the person who did my favourite picture was Joseph Mallord William Turner but he was called J.M.W. Turner. He created two fishing boat in storm in the night it was a oil painting. I did three pictures one was arch in the dark it had trees growing around it and it was done by Emma Stibbon. The next one was a face on a hill and that was done by William Scott. The third one was as if you were on and arch over an old car when the lights are on and it is night and you are on a road which was done by Gertrude Hermes.

What did you see?

I saw lots of pictures with people in and some of them were of buildings but the thing they all had the same was darkness.

What were your first impressions, and your overall impressions of the presentation/layout/screening/ performing of the artwork?

I thought it is going to be a bit boring because I was just going to see pictures of night time but it was quite fun because you can see which Material are better at making a good night scene. I also liked trying to sketch someone's painting.

I enjoyed it because I could try and sketch someone else's painting and I like art so I liked it in general.

I'm glad you liked it Isaac - I want to know how it made you feel when seeing so much darkness?

Hello Luke, thanks for your question. some of them were kind of lonely because there weren't any people. Some were a bit scary like some with people in as the darkness made them look spooky or maybe ill.

Interesting review Isaac, well done for that. Which materials are best for night time?

Thanks Carol. I like the oil paint best the black seems purer and is a bit shiny, like looking outside at night with the moon and stars.
