Bad Master

Improvisation at it's finest.

Bad Master

The Marlborough Pub and Theatre was the location for the second show in my Brighton reviewing experience this year. Despite the rain, nothing was going to stop me from seeing this show. First thing I noticed was all gender toilets with two cubicles in each one: already setting the balance for an accepting society. Also, the theatre box office lady was friendly, which is fitting for a friendly atmosphere.

Upon entering the venue, the only props I spotted on stage were three seats and three microphone stands. It's a simple space, similar to the Laughing Horse.

From start to finish, this show was filled with so much humour! An interesting note to make here is that it was all an improvised show, which made the comedy even better. The three girls in the show acted their roles brilliantly and with class. From costume changes to voice alterations, I never expected to laugh so much in a show! There was college girls, show hosts, marchers, FBI agents and surgeons - all of which were out of the blue and improvised. There was small audience interaction involved and there was even a hint of a member of audience coming on stage...but unfortunately that didn't happen.

Overall, despite the small setback, it was really brilliant and I recommend this show to anyone who is ready for the unexpected.
