Matilda The Musical

Upon the 23rd of November, I visited the Cambridge Theatre (London, West End) in order to view the stage adaption of Roald Dahl's 'Matilda'. Here is a simple review of my experience as an audience member there:

Matilda The Musical

I, personally, found 'Matilda' to be a great and fabulously entertaining stage play. These feelings root from numerous places, one such root of enjoyment was the numerous genres. These numerous genres permit a likeable front, allowing it to be enjoyed by children and adults alike; it is comedic as well as touching. As someone who loves books, I am extremely glad that this play keeps quite closely to the plot and characters of the book with only with a few changes in which characters and scenes are made bigger in order to fit the musical use. All actors (despite their young ages) kept in character, remembered lines and were thus brilliant. The background was awe inspiring and dance routines excellent. I was overall wowed.

The only fault I was able to find was (as my seat was in the balcony and quite far back at that) I found myself struggling, and thus often leaning, to see the forward corners of the stage.

It's always great to see Roald Dahl's work being adapted this way.
