Sam Fletcher's use of props and music really adds to his show and allows people to stay constantly entertained, sort of like watching an hour-long TV program on ITV -- in a good way. He tells us how he was inspired by polymaths, people who are multi-talented and have achieved a lot, as he compares humorously to himself, and shows us a number of tricks and gags. One of his talents is tea making, which gets very messy very fast.
There were enjoyable intermissions between the act, where the music would signify a countdown to a challenge like, finding the end of a roll of sellotape. The game show style he chose really works to include everyone in the audience. Games like which way is the spoon facing and "Book'a'roo" were really entertaining and made everyone feel like a studio audience in this small venue.
His use of visuals and sound added to the liveliness and excitement to the show, in particular the failed attempt of playing a home-made Theremin which was redeemed when he played the Star Trek theme using a member of the audience like a human Theremin.
Overall, Fletcher finds humour in ridiculously everyday skills. Very messy and very funny.
