The Wheelie Wonderful Trail

This is my review on the Wheelie Wonderful Trail.

The Wheelie Wonderful Trail

On the 15th of June I viewed the Wheelie Wonderful trail. It was on the 12th - 16th of June in Diss,Norfolk. The organiser of the trail is Holly Dawson, an Arts Award student.

The Wheelie Wonderful trail is an exhibition where wheels have been decorated by all kinds of people. From primary school pupils to professional artists. They were displayed in shops all around Diss for the public to discover.

The exhibition is fun and and exciting. Holly Dawson made the trail for the Diss Cyclathon as well as her gold arts award. The wheels are beautiful and interesting and some of them promote important matters or a business. Holly Dawson herself made two of the treasured wheels.

Many wheels were involved in the wheelie wonderful trail. Here are some of my favourites:

One of the wheels was displayed in Solo Housing, which is an organisation that homeless find accommodation. And support them to independent living. I like this wheel because it shows the struggle homeless people go through and the support they receive. It's inspirational and encouraging, especially because of the uplifting quotes which adorn the wheel.

Another wheel was made by my father, Robert Court. It's displayed in his shop window (Photo Elite) and is called ' PHOTO ELITE CAMERA LENS TIME MACHINE'. The idea is it's a time machine - showing how bikes have changed throughout time. It's a camera lens as he owns a photo shop. He has a disco light in the middle to make it more futuristic. I like it because it's creative, informative, cool and shows how we have evolved.

My favourite wheel was displayed in Diss Antiques. I love it because it is artistic and fascinating. This wheel is called 'Cycles' and is by the artist Scribbly Roo. It's like a compass, I particularly like it as it is how I would like to draw.

Lastly, I also like the wheel which was displayed in the library. An employee from the library folded book pages into these beautiful flowers. This wheel is a creative and stunning masterpiece.

I think this trail is great for family's, as it's fun for the kids to find the wheels and a nice experience for the adults. However I think this trail would be loved by all ages.

Lots of people were involved in the making of this trail and it couldn't have been done without all their all their hard work. Also thanks to the shop keepers for allowing the wheels to be displayed in their windows. And lastly a huge congratulation to Holly for creating the trail and bring the people of Diss together.
