A late review, An early advert

Comic con is an amazing event, when I entered the massive doors I was speechless with how big it really was despite being forewarned multiple times, many times bigger than my not so small secondary school. I later learnt that that had been a record for attendance, and that over 133,000 people entered over the weekend.

You may be surprised at this amount, but honestly, I'm not.

The entire thing flows with the energy of yes, 133,000 people, but this is reflected in the most wonderful ways, a large artists alley allows you to buy art and talk with artists of all ages, enormous merch stalls which will worm under your skin no matter how thick you think it is and convince you to buy something, even if you have already said no, the atmosphere of such a place does not allow for negativity. And if none of those strike your fancy there are interactive events like a meet and greet with your favourite stars, or a competition as to who can draw the best thing, whatever that thing may be.

No matter how hard hearted you are you are sure to find something you love at comic con, just because there is so much there, really, it's more like 5 or so events have been smashed together for the ultimate gathering of nerds, artists, gamers and cosplayers, with who it is well worth starting up a conversation with, and you almost inevitably will do, simply because it's so easy and they're so willing to. Asking them about their costume is a great place to start, and don't worry about staring, they don't dress up as balloon Darth Vadars just to go unnoticed!

Of course such a great place does not come without its downfalls, but for comic con the issue is so small it could easily be called perfect. Its issue is people, lots and lots of people, in fact, too many people. Fortunately this only applies in some areas and they are exceptionally quick moving, as I've said, the energy of the place simply refuses to slow down, so by the end of your day there, you will be tired yes, butit will all have been very worth it, and you will find yourself grinning, and not even wondering why.

So yes, I know this is 'early' (or very late, but be positive) but I am certain that going to comic con is an event you will not regret, or forget.
