Concert at the National auditorium of Madrid

Last month I went to a classical music concert of my conservatory (Teresa Berganza). The concert was held at the National auditorium of Madrid. One friend was performing playing the clarinet in the wood wind orchestra.

Concert at the National auditorium of Madrid

The concert was held on a Friday afternoon. We arrived at the auditorium which was huge, I think is the first time I remember being there. I had a good seat near the stage where I could hear and see perfectly.

The concert was divided into two parts:
-The wood wind orchestra.
-The symphony orchestra.

This was the program:

Banda Sinfónica del Conservatorio Teresa Berganza

G. Giménez (1852-1923)
La Tempranica (selección)

R. W. Smith (1958)
La Divina Comedia

Orquesta Sinfónica del Conservatorio Teresa Berganza

W. A. Mozart (1756-1791)
Sinfonía nº 40 en Sol menor, KV 550 (I movimiento - allegro)

F. J. Haydn (1732-1809)
Sinfonía nº 93 en Re mayor, Hob I:93 (adagio-allegro assai)

L. v. Beethoven (1770-1827)
Sinfonía nº 1 en Do mayor, Op. 21
(I movimiento - adagio molto - allegro con brio)

The piece I enjoyed the most was Mozart's one by the orchestra, because all of them played beautifully.
The seats were very comfortable and acoustics were fantastic.
One thing I think that could have been better is to of had a short break between the two orchestras.
But in general it was a nice concert at a good price that I would really recommend because of the professional level of performance, the quality surroundings and the excellent selection of pieces.
