Sing Your Heart Out Norfolk

This is a review of a county wide music singing competition called "Sing Your Heart Out Norfolk" run by All Seasons Productions.

I reviewed a heat of the competition that took place in The kings Arms Ludham on the 18th of February. The competition was a free to enter singing competition and open to anyone above the age of 12, you could have applied online or just turn up and sing. The top prize in the final was £2,000 cash, a studio recording session, a chance to headline your own show and media interviews and airtime. There were three heats, Heat 1, Semi-final then the Final, approximately 12 contestants in each heat and only the top 3 would progress to the semi then there are 4 semis and only the top 2 contestants from each will progress into the final, each level is judged by 3 judges who vary from heat to heat.

I have seen singing competitions like this before but only national TV ones such as X factor, I have never been to one live before, and I have never been to one that is so relaxed and friendly. I wasn't expecting the level of professionalism that there was in the event, just because i had never heard of it before and it was relatively small scale for these types of competitions.

Personally, I thought it was a fun to watch competition, the the host was very funny and the fact they used a "clap-o-meter" to help decide the winners added a humorous touch and added to the atmosphere. To improve I think they could have had a larger venue or an outside venue because the turnout was large and it was quite cramped in the restaurant.I would recommend this event because as I have said before, it was funny, had an amazing social atmosphere and was very family friendly. i would recommend it to anyone over the age of 10 to watch this, any younger and you would not appreciate the hosts comedy or the range of music that people performed.

Considering the setup of the performance, personally thought they made effective use of the limited space, unfortunately I don't have any pictures as I can't access them.

Over all I thought it was a very professional, funny competition and all the contestants showed good talent.
