So hey!...It’s me... writing another glowing report on my findings at this year’s Bath Lit Fest.This time covering a two way talk between Joe Abercrombie and Phillip Reeves, both promoting their newest, post-apocalyptic novels.One an inter-galactic sci-fi wonder ball, the other an epic fantasy bible with a bit of Viking thrown into the mix.
Both novels are set in large scale fantasy worlds tying them together nicely and providing us with a magical insight into their wonderful scenes and the ways the authors draw them out in their minds and on the pages.
The witty and confident writers wove the interview together nicely, charming and delighting us with their little tasters of the books and, as per usual there was the fabulous audience there to pick their brains, shame facing me about my lack of questions.
The talk ends and as usual the applause from the audience shocks me out of the daydream state that the sheer imagination of the authors has sent me into.The Lit Fest has done it again, and you know what, it just keeps getting better!Time to open the doors on the crazy universes which Abercrombie and Reeves have to offer I think… I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind spending a bit of time in one of these worlds … next stop?! ... Waterstones to pick up a couple of books.
