The title of the first activity was art space for adults and teenagers with disabilities. Whilst I was there Jemma Rix helped me to create a mixed media peace with all her materials. I went to this workshop with Jemma Bagley because I have never done it before. So I thought I would do something new. And so I went to the workshop and learnt mixed media. So now I have used some of the techniques that she taught me in my final piece. Jemma went to Loughborough School of art and design and did a degree in textiles. she grew up in Bedfordshire. She also left college in 1990. Jemma Bagleyr runs a workshop so other people can access creative sessions. Charnwood arts has been going for about 30 years and Jemma Bagley has been working there for about 8 years.

Jemma Bagley also has been going to Melbourne Arts Festival trail for several years. Also Jemma works for company called demontfort Fine Art selling her own artwork.

I tried mixed media collage. I learnt some cool techniques with oil paint. where you put oil paint on some Greaseproof paper, on a wooden board then get tissue paper and put it on the oil paint then draw anything and it will print on the other side. I also learnt that if you make your piece let it dry then put some pastel on then it makes a really cool effect on the piece. I also tried putting printed book pages on my piece which I really like the effect. Jemma showed me how to do monoprinting which basically you put tissue paper on the oil paint and draw with pen on the tissue paper then it will come out more black on the other side. I have learned to do basic screen printing using a mesh screen and paint. I created 3 different pieces of artwork whilst I was there. The first piece I created I just experimented and did all the colours I could and finished it off with mono printing which is just ink printing. The second piece I created was pink with flowery paper and "marble pink paper" also with monoprinting. Then the third piece I created was blue and white with the theme of books. I tore up some print from books and added them on.

I enjoyed the activity because there was endless stuff to do so I was never bored and jemma was very nice and kind.she kept me busy and kept giving me different ideas to try and make my piece better.
