Northamptonshire open arts trail

My visit to local artist, Jane Denton, art exhibition.

The Northamptonshire open art trails are on all over Northamptonshire at museum, theatres and village halls. I went to one at The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough.

I got shown up some stairs to the top floor of the theatre to see this artists work. Her name is Jane Denton and she has been an artist for 10 years, I walked around a little room where all her art work was on display. This is her first solo art exhibition.

I thought this artist chose the right colours for the pictures. She made them nice and simple so you could tell what was going on, they were really good and effective in her style. She used watercolour, wash, ink and mixed media. All the art in the room had a peaceful and calming feel to it, very relaxing.

My favourite painting's were 'Dancing Queen' and 'Poppies at the Tower'. These were my favourite because the artist chose lovely peaceful colours. The flowers stood out from the background and the poppies were the only colour in the picture, a nice bright red, the tower in the background was a neutral colour over ink.

This exhibition is on until the end of September.
