Headless Population Review

a review on the short animated film Headless Population.

Headless Population is a short animated film directed by Catriona Carswell and funded by the BBC.  The animation focuses on the dependence people have on their technology and how it consumes our daily routine. Although the animation appears colourful and lively, the message and end sequence is far more dystopian and dark.

Despite the film only being 3 minutes long, I think it does a great job in showing us how technology can consume us and how mobile phones can make us miss moments around us.

The simple art style is a huge contrast to the serious and deep message, but it still works really well as you don't need much detail to understand what point they're trying to make.

Overall I really enjoyed this short animation and thought it did a brilliant job in portraying how we miss the world around us due to technology and the internet.
