Headless Population is an animated short film directed by Catriona Carswell. It was produced as a part of a series called "New Creatives." It's only about 3 minutes long, but it's still pretty powerful in my opinion. I think this film does a good job showing how people who spend too much time on their phones miss the world around them.
I also really like the simplistic art style in this. Sometimes animation doesn't need to be super-detailed or anything. I think the animation does a good job at showing how beautiful the outside world is, which helps prove the point the film is trying to make. The music sounds relaxing at first, but towards the end it begins to sound more sad. This is both because of the music itself changing overtime, and also because of what's happening on screen. There's also a bit of a contrast between the beautiful countryside with tranquil music, and the headless people on their phones and missing everything. The workplace shown is depicted as being very dull, which is in contrast to the countryside which is very beautiful and colourful. What happens at the very powerful because it's something that unfortunately does happen when people pay too much attention to their phones and not enough to the real world. Overall, I really liked this short film.
