Conan Gray is a 26-year-old singer/songwriter who started his career as a teenager posting blogs, covers, and original songs on YouTube. In 2018 Gray released his first album with help from Republic Records, the album was titled ‘Sunset Season’, receiving over 300 million streams online.

In 2020 Gray released his second album ‘Kid Crow’, his song ‘Heather’ becoming an instant hit and fan favourite thanks to Tik Tok. Not too long after, Conan Gray went on his first world tour and released his third album ‘Superache’ on the 24th of June 2024.

The release of his song ‘Never Ending Song’ in 2023 marked a significant change in his music style and genre. A year later (2024) Conan Gray released his 1980s inspired album ‘Found Heaven’ leading to a very successful world tour.

I went to see Conan Gray’s ‘Found Heaven’ tour on the 10th of November 2024 at the Wembley Arena. This was my first proper concert and it’s something I’ll never forget.

You could feel everyone’s excitement as we walked down to the arena, people everywhere wearing Cona Gray shirts, jackets, hoodies, a couple of them even had cones on their heads to show they were fans of Conan Gray, otherwise known as ‘Cone Heads’.

When we first arrived, I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of people, noises and lights everywhere. Me and my family arrived at the arena while the support act (Between Friends) were playing, the music was blasting, the lights were blinding, and at first all I wanted to do was leave. It was an atmosphere I was not used to at all…

Once I was settled in my seat, I was a lot more relaxed, although I did struggle with the noise slightly as the arena wasn’t too full yet and there were less people to absorb the loudness. After the support act had finished, everything was tense as we waited for the main act, Conan Gray, to arrive. There were several moments where it seemed like he was going to appear, but they were just teasing us, leaving everyone excited with anticipation. And, as I’m sure you can imagine, everyone went crazy when he finally did appear. Including Me!

Gray started off the show with a banger, launching straight into ‘Fainted Love’ and amazing the audience with his stunning singing voice. I was slightly worried at first that Gray’s voice wouldn’t sound as good as it sounds on recordings, but his singing was even better live! You could hear and feel the emotions that he was projecting; it was beautiful.

The staging was simple but worked perfectly. It drew all your attention to look at Conan Gray. He was in the middle of the stage, moving around as the cameras followed him. His eye-catching costume inspired heavily by glam rock sparkled as strutted down the stage. The outfit reflected his style perfectly, the incorporation of the infamous tear drop with a star in the centre representing his new album ‘Found Heaven’, was genius, the shining tear drops weaved together to create his crop top, matching effortlessly with his shiny red studded trousers, and black platform block boots. Gray’s band were on an elevated stage near the middle, and behind them there were two massive stars in the background that occasionally lit up, with fabric hanging from the ceiling as if somebody had torn it.

Gray had a great connection with the audience, he had us singing classics like ‘Wish You Were Sober’, ‘Heather’, ‘Crush Culture’, ‘Comfort Crowd’, and ‘Astronomy’, until our throats were raw and aching.

I love that he made sure to talk to the audience and keep us engaged, stopping once or twice to read signs and sing happy birthday to one of the audience members, bringing some comedy and realism into the show.

Near the end of the concert before the encore, Gray expressed his gratitude to the audience and his band, capturing everyone’s hearts with his words. After a rollercoaster of emotions, the show “ended” with him leaving the stage. People started to filter out before suddenly he came back on for the encore launching straight into some fan favourites like ‘Maniac’ and ‘Alley rose’. When the gig ended officially, I was buzzing with energy taking in everything that had just happened.

As we excited the arena with the rest of the ‘Cone Heads’, people were singing Conan Gray’s songs, smiling, laughing, having fun. Everyone at the concert was kind and good-natured smiling in approval at the rest of the ‘Cone Heads’. A couple of people even stopped me and complimented my outfit!

Everything felt perfect.

It was a night I’ll never forget.
