In a (wholly deserved) sold out performance, Katie offers irreverent humour supported by Audio Description, a variety of costumes that really enhanced the show, and provided exceptional entertainment for the packed audience.
Disco Ball is bold, witty and coherent as an arc for a comedy show. It also helps showcase the excellent voice Pritchard has, and produces great songs like “Two letter words”. Her musical prowess shines through and is a key component of the act.
No set is required, Pritchard fills the room with her energy, her costumes and rapport with her audience. Throughout the show people were laughing and smiling; they were getting stuck in with the audience engagement sections, and enjoying both the narrative and musical elements of this show.
Another audience member summed up Pritchard’s performance on the way out of the venue, “She must be exhausted”. Said, I believe, in a very good way (as I concur), the level of energy, confidence and creativity in the costumes used leads me to wonder how on earth she got through it all without falling over.
For anyone wanting a laugh, open to exploring a personal journey with comedic consequences and anyone who just needs a pick me up, then go see Katie at the Pleasance Courtyard.
