On Wednesday the 13th of October, the year 11 drama students watched Director Emma Rice’s adaption of ‘Wuthering Heights’ at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre as part of the live theatre section of our GCSE course.
The star studded cast including Lucy McCormick (Post Popular) and Ash Hunter (Hamilton) left the me feeling emotionally connected to the tragic, heart rendering story of Cathy and Heathcliff. The stylised set made the play visually enticing and gave the performance a greater meaning. My favourite part of the play was Katy Owen’s performance as Linton Heathcliff which left the whole audience laughing together. The highlight of the evening however was the multiple musical numbers which added a flare and uniqueness to the play whilst also guiding the audience though the production.
Wuthering Heights was an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend everyone to watch the production, which is available to see both in person and live streamed, making it accessible to all!
