Rotherham Photography and Film Competition

We are looking for a Young Photographer & Young Videographer to document upcoming events for the Children’s Capital of Culture. You don’t need to have any qualifications or equipment – you just need to be 16-25, live in Rotherham, and have a passion for photography or film.

Rotherham Photography and Film Competition

As our Photographer or Videographer in residence you will photograph or film between 5 and 10 local events over the next year. We will work with you to make sure you have what you need, and to get to where you need to be. All dates will be booked with you a month in advance. You will also have great networking and mentoring opportunities. 


There are two opportunities available:

Role: Young Photographer

Responsibilities: To photograph between 5 and 10 local events across the next year and support the editing process

Dates: August 2021 – August 2022

Pay:  £2250 

Role: Young Videographer

Responsibilities: To film between 5 and 10 local events across the next year, and support the editing process

Dates: August 2021 – August 2022

Pay: £2250


TO APPLY, ENTER OUR COMPETITION! 

Film competition: Film and share a 30 second film that captures what “Home” means to you. 

Photography competition: Take and share a photograph that captures what “Home” means to you.


There are no right or wrong ways to respond and we warmly welcome all applications. 

You can use a phone or camera to capture your photograph or film. If you have any questions about applying, or about the opportunities available please let us know below by emailing Jemima at [email protected]

All entries will be brought to a panel, where we will consider your creativity and storytelling. If you are not successful this time we will let you know about future opportunities.
