Daunt Books Children's Short Story Competition 2020

The Daunt Books Short Story competition aims to help children get creative with their imaginations and celebrate their creative writing. The competition is open to children between 4-15.

The winners of the 2020 competition will be compiled into an anthology, with an introductory piece written by Patrice Lawrence, author of Orangeboy and Indigo Donut and the illustrations designed by Benji Davies, creator of The Storm Whale

What are the rules?

  • The stories must be entirely the work of the child.
  • Entries must be between 300 and 1,500 words long.
  • Entries must be submitted before 29th February 2020.
  • Entries must be submitted by an adult who is capable of giving permission on behalf of the child.
