This is a paid position for someone based in Bristol, aiming to support the next generation of artists and add to the growing diversity of the cultural industry in the city.
The mentee will be part of a devised rehearsal process, adapting a well-known children's book into a theatre show that will feature puppetry, physical theatre and live music and will tour libraries and small theatres. They will be working with, and learning from, top industry professionals including Director Peta Maurice, Designer Katie Sykes, Musical Director Jack Drewry, Producer Alice Massey and Performer Tessa Bide.
Who they are looking for
This opportunity would best suit someone who wants to make their own work in a devised way, perhaps for a family audience, and also with an interest in puppetry. However, we encourage you to apply if that doesn't apply to you, but you feel you could still benefit from this opportunity.
They are looking for someone based in Bristol with less than 5 years professional experience of working in theatre. There is no age limit.
When
Interviews will be on Tuesday 20th June in Bristol.
Rehearsals are running in Bristol from the 3rd - 7th July and the 10th - 14th July (roughly 9:30am - 5:30pm), with a performance the following week that the mentee would be invited to attend.
The mentee will then receive bespoke mentoring sessions and ad hoc advice until the 27th October 2023.
Pay
There is a £1000 fee for this work.
