If you are a young person (18-25), particularly from underrepresented groups, looking to take your first professional steps into a career in live music making, Misfits Music are looking for a total of five ambitious trainee music leaders to join them for a flexible 12-month paid training programme in Birmingham.
Throughout the programme, you will learn and develop key skills, including:
Effective communication skills with a large group of adults
Understanding the needs of a community music group and shaping sessions accordingly
Time-management
Choosing repertoire
Developing performance skills, working with us to present one concert per term
Leading a community music group
Leading effective rehearsals
and more…
The final fee available is up to £3,032.40 and this will vary depending on how many workshops you lead by the end of the programme*.
This will be agreed during the programme with the successful candidate depending on their availability and how they progress through the programme.
As part of the application process, you will be asked which of our three main projects you want to work with. If you are interested in multiple groups, please submit multiple applications.
Each of our three main projects has specific needs and will suit different people depending on their experience and musical background.
