Burnley Youth Theatre is excited to announce we are recruiting a Trainee Theatre Practitioner for our Spring Season 2023

Trainee Theatre Practitioner Placement

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career Theatre Practitioner who has some experience in planning and leading workshops (this experience can be voluntary or educationally based). The applicant must have a passion and enthusiasm for theatre, the arts and working with young people.

The role is a paid placement (National Minimum Wage) 10 hours a week for 10 weeks based at their theatre building in Burnley. The placement will run during our Spring Season and will include gaining experience in:

  • Inclusive Youth Theatre Workshops
  • School and Outreach Workshops
  • A Youth Theatre Production

Applicants must be 18 - 25 years old.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with a passion for a career in Arts Facilitation, predominately Drama focused and Young People centred.

You will be creative and flexible

The placement will have a mixture of daytime delivery, evening workshops and potentially some weekend rehearsals (timetable dependent)

Job Responsibilities

To learn and develop skills in workshop delivery through observing and co-delivering

To develop skills in planning workshop content

To develop skills working creatively with young people
