Everything that happened at the Brit Awards 2023

From Harry Styles to Daisy May Cooper’s iconic Sugababes gag, here’s everything that went down at this years annual Brit awards.

Everything that happened at the Brit Awards 2023

This year's Brit Awards was nothing short of chaotic. It had everything from painfully awkward speeches to a stellar list of live performances including Harry Styles, Lizzo, Stormzy and Wet Leg. Whilst ITV were hoping this would boost ratings, it seemed rather clear why many had forgone watching.

Drunken speeches made for a cringeworthy atmosphere as Daisy May Cooper’s joke about meeting the Sugababes and insisting they definitely weren’t doing illegal substances fell flat, however the Twitter crowd seemed to soak it up.

The biggest winner of the night was former One Direction star Harry Styles. The pop sensation was nominated in four categories including Song Of The Year and Artist Of The Year, and swept up every single one.

The Artist Of The Year category didn’t come without controversy though as not a single woman was nominated after the male and female categories were merged. As Harry shout out to the women who didn’t make the final cut, pop star Charli XCX said she thinks it’s their (The Brits) problem rather than anything to do with the calibre of female talent.

Other big winners of the night included Beyoncé, The 1975 and Isle of Wight Trio Wet Leg.
