You might think the people who do volunteering programmes abroad would be people who actually, you know, care about volunteering. But, sadly, that’s not the case at all. Or, at least, it wasn’t the case for me.

I spent ten weeks volunteering with a charity last autumn, but it wasn't exactly the experience I hoped it would be.

Why I chose to take a little break from education
