Taylor Swift will be recognised for her contribution and ‘immense impact on music across the world’ at this year's Brit Awards, becoming the first female winner in history.

Griff is announced the winner of the prestigious BRITs Rising Star Award, following in the footsteps of artists such as Adele, Sam Smith and Florence and the Machine.

Sam Smith, the non-binary pop singer, has been excluded from the gendered categories at the 2021 Brit awards.
