The rustic vibes of Ziggy Alberts’ new video for ‘heartbeat’ are used to illustrate the timelessness of true love.
The video is predominantly set in a 1940s barn, in the middle of a dance lesson. Couples of all ages dance together in a traditional way, with the oldest couple sitting on the side, before taking the spotlight after the class has finished.
The implication is that all these young couples learning to dance will have a long and happy future ahead of them with their partners, their love of dance and the love they have for each other. It’s a simplistic, heartwarming and beautifully-told story which puts love at the forefront of the story it tells. Something which we certainly need this year!
Alberts himself comes out to join in the dance at the end, smiling to himself and witnessing the joy that love and dance can bring. This is the singer-songwriter’s first track from the upcoming fifth album ‘searching for freedom’, which marks a significantly new chapter in Ziggy’s progression as both a musician and a storyteller.
